MP
Thriftwood 2000 buckskin stallion by Drifts Chip
out of Drifting Tule, by Driftwood Ike is an intensely line-bred Driftwood
stallion who traces to the famous stallion four times. Also known
as "Winston" MP Thriftwood is co-owned by the Wagonhound Ranch
of Douglas, Wyoming. In 2005, when he was only a 5-year old,
Cory Petska rode him to the NFR average championship and reserve
champion heeler title. "It's almost unheard of for a 5-year old
horse to win these kinds of honors."
Mel Potter of Marana,
Arizona has devoted much of his life to preserving the Driftwood
line of arena performers. The former pro rodeo cowboy is shown below
on MP Thriftwood, and NFR-caliber rope horse and promising young
sire. The Mel Potter broodmare band, which numbers around 40,
features the blood of Driftwood and is responsible for producing the
PRCA earners of more than $1,000,000. For more information about Mel
Potter and his Driftwood horses pick up a copy of the May 2007 Western
Horseman magazine. |
